Stencil poster prepwork

Group Poster Entry

In class we worked in groups to create a poster for "Poster for tomorrow". Our idea was based on the fact that everything is made up of carbon which has the symbol "C" in the periodic table. And we played around with the tagline and the word "matter" how all people matter and are also made up of matter.

Previous Inspiration

Last semester I found this piece. After looking at David Carsons work, i want to create imagery that represents equality and then cut out the letters to create a word or quote. It would look similar to this piece.

David Carson

These are some images from David Carsons book "David Carson: 2ndsight"

After looking at these images i now definitely want to use a more hands on approach with my poster, i want to use water colour and also make collages, which i will then cut up to create the type out of.

A poster for Silk cut cigarettes

After seeing this i'm wondering if i took a photo of a grater and printed it and cut out a letter what would it look like? Even shining lights onto it or through water while taking the photo.

Really like the texture in these two pieces, you can really see it that clear in the photo though.
